Mid Cheshire history
Take a step back in time and discover the region's rich history, with the Northwich, Winsford and Middlewich Guardians.

Borough is ready to pay tribute to the victims of conflict
VETERANS, families and friends, young and old, will stand side by side this Sunday, November 14, to remember and pay tribute to those who died for their country.

* BUILDINGS
Black and white buildings are a notable feature in the centre of Northwich.

THE SHOPPING PRECINCT
Modern buildings such as the Memorial Hall, Magistrate's Courts, Medical Centre, Police Station and Market Hall are all located within the town centre development.

THE SALT MUSEUM
The Salt Museum is situated on London Road on the way into Northwich from the Manchester Road (A556). The museum is housed in part of Weaver Hall, built in 1837 as a workhouse.

SIR JOHN DEANE'S COLLEGE
In The Crescent off London Road is Sir John Deane's 6th Form College.

WINNINGTON HALL
Winnington Hall is one of the oldest buildings still standing in this part of Cheshire, although it is now within the vast industrial complex at the ICI works at Winnington.

THE DOCK ROAD EDWARDIAN PUMPING STATION
The Pumping Station is a Grade II listed building. It has unique pumps and gas powered engines, which have been restored to working order.

ROMAN NORTHWICH
Roman occupation of high land west of the Weaver valley started in the '70s of the first century AD when a timber auxiliary fort was established.
