Children go back in time as fete brings village together
CROWDS of Crowton residents flocked to the village church on Saturday 23 July to indulge in a day of fun and festivities at the annual fete.
The Christ Church extravaganza is a popular event and with a total of more than £2,000 raised on the day from a selection of stalls, this year proved to be no exception.
The day’s timetable began at 2.30pm when the fete’s beautifully dressed 11-year-old Bethany Sproston was crowned rose queen.
Joe and Pam Nicholson, from the Hare and Hounds pub, officially opened the fete and various stalls and fun and games for the family were available throughout the day.
Children donned wartime refugee-style costumes to dance to old-time tunes and pupils from Crowton Christ Church CE Primary were also on hand to entertain onlookers during the afternoon celebrations.
